Spey style, Two Handed Switch Rod

10' Switch Rod, Floating Line

I think this video is my favorite of all videos. This was shot at Mio, MI on the AuSable trophy waters at the boat ramp.

This video show cases how technique can overcome the fine front taper of this 240 grain custom Scandi Head and a size 12 muddler minnow. Notice how gentle the front taper and fly lands on the water at the end of a high speed tight loop cast.

The rod is a custom 10' switch rod whose limit (and clean technique) is tested for this size of river. This setup is excellent to fish waking flies or just underneath the surface film.

Spey, Switch Rod

This video demonstrates a Switch spey setup whereby a 32.5' long Scandi head is used with copious running line stripped in after the cast. This short head leads to casting a multi fly rig deeper, long distance, and with the option to work the fly by stripping in the running line.

The custom head has an interchangeable multi-sink tip and a intermediate sink head. The rod is a custom 10' switch rod.

This video shows a Circle 'C' pickup followed by Double Spey roll cast, ''kack handed' side (non casting side). I am attempting to get distance with a Scandinavian short stroke so as to achieve less wear and tear from prolonged casting.

Spey, Switch Rod 8 wt.

This video is shot on stream on the Pere Marquette fishing for steelhead. The cast is using short distance Scandi casting with custom intermediate head and interchangeable multi- sink tip, throwing an articulated streamer fly.

Rod is TFO's 11' Deer Creek Switch rod in 8 wght.

Switch casting to tight spot

This is probably the funnest video I did because not only it dispel the myth that longer rods and line setup loses accuracy but it also challenged my anticipatory casting skills  to factor in the wind.

This video was shot when the river was blown and I wanted my fly to squeeze in between the logs on the left, as close to the opposite bank as possible, and to the slack water under the overhanging branches.

Everything was fine until the Mr. Wind showed who is boss and the fly ended up in the branches.

This is the same 10' custom switch rod with custom Scandi floating head at 240 grains.
